IRA Qualified Distribution
The IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals aged 70.5 or older to make an outright gift of as much as $100,000 annually to Saint Edmond’s Academy from a traditional IRA. The withdrawal amount may count toward your annual required minimum distribution (RMD). Although the RMD is not required until age 72, the QCD can be particularly beneficial for donors who do not itemize and instead file the standard deduction.
The QCD must be paid directly from your IRA to Saint Edmond’s Academy. For more information, please reach out to Andrew Schieffer ’05
Matching Gifts
Many employers offer matching gift programs to amplify their employees’ charitable contributions. Ask your employer if they are a matching employer to amplify your impact.
Donor Advised Funds
Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) provide a flexible way to support Saint Edmond’s Academy. By contributing to your DAF via our partnership with the Delaware Community Foundation, you can recommend grants to Saint Edmond’s Academy and make a lasting impact on our students and programs. It’s an efficient, tax-savvy way to give, and your generosity will help us continue to build an extraordinary community together. Name Saint Edmond’s Academy as the recipient of your donor-advised funds.
Bequests
You can give a variety of assets — including cash, securities, real estate, interest in a business, and collectibles — by designating Saint Edmond’s Academy as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, donor-advised fund, life insurance policy, investment account, or bank account. Assets bypass probate and go directly to the school.
